Little Farm Friends – Participant Acknowledgement

Before participating in a Little Farm Friends experience, the person making the booking acknowledges and agrees to the following on behalf of themselves and confirms they are authorised to make the booking for the participants included in the booking. 

Nature of the Experience 

Little Farm Friends takes place on a real family farm and involves being in an outdoor environment and being near farm animals. 

Participants understand that animals can behave unpredictably even when they are normally calm or accustomed to people. 

Possible risks associated with a farm visit may include, among other things: 

• contact with or proximity to animals;  

• animals moving unexpectedly;  

• scratches, bumps or other accidental animal contact;  

• uneven, wet, muddy or slippery ground;  

• trips and falls;  

• fences, gates and farm surfaces;  

• animal manure and other naturally occurring farm material;  

• insects and other wildlife;  

• weather and environmental conditions; and  

• allergic or other individual reactions associated with animals or an outdoor farm environment.  

Instructions 

Participants agree to follow reasonable instructions provided by Little Farm Friends hosts and any safety signage displayed on the property. 

Parents, guardians and responsible adults agree to ensure children in their care also follow these instructions. 

Supervision of Children 

Children must remain appropriately supervised by their accompanying parent, guardian or responsible adult throughout the visit. 

Little Farm Friends hosts supervise and facilitate the farm activities but do not assume the role of the child’s parent, guardian or responsible adult. 

Animal Behaviour 

Participants understand that animals have individual personalities and behaviours and that interaction with any particular animal cannot be guaranteed. 

Participants must not: 

• chase animals;  

• hit, kick, grab or deliberately frighten animals;  

• enter restricted animal areas;  

• climb animal fencing or gates;  

• feed animals anything other than feed supplied or approved by Little Farm Friends; or  

• ignore instructions given by a Little Farm Friends host.  

Feeding 

Participants acknowledge that direct hand-to-mouth animal feeding is not permitted. 

Supplied feed may only be scattered or tossed for appropriate animals in designated areas and in accordance with instructions from Little Farm Friends. 

Visitors must remain outside the goat paddock. 

Hygiene 

Participants acknowledge that contact with farm environments and animals requires appropriate hygiene. 

Visitors should wash their hands using the provided facilities after animal interaction and before eating or drinking. 

Parents and guardians are responsible for assisting children where required. 

Health & Individual Circumstances 

Parents, guardians and participants are responsible for considering whether participation is appropriate having regard to their own or their child’s individual circumstances, including allergies, sensitivities, mobility requirements or other relevant needs. 

Customers are encouraged to contact Little Farm Friends before booking where they have questions about accessibility or whether the farm environment is suitable for a participant. 

Acknowledgement of Risk 

By participating, visitors acknowledge that an outdoor farm and animal experience involves risks that cannot be completely eliminated despite reasonable safety measures and supervision. 

Participants agree to take reasonable care for their own safety and for children under their supervision and to comply with Little Farm Friends’ reasonable safety instructions. 

Legal Rights 

This Participant Acknowledgement does not exclude, restrict or modify any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law.
